Betty Evelyn Herring, 79, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Signature Healthcare at Parkwood in Lebanon. She was born in Chilhowie, Virginia, on December 27, 1939. Betty graduated from Marion High School in Marion, Indiana.

On July 5, 1958, she was married to David L. Herring; he survives and was the love of her life, sharing 60 wonderful years together. Betty worked in the cafeteria at Murray Elementary School in Kentucky for many years. She was dedicated to her family and lived for the Lord and her children.

She will be missed by many. Survivors include: Husband: David L. Herring of Lebanon, Indiana One daughter: Sharon S. Herring of Lebanon, Indiana Three Sons: Burnie (Debbie) Herring of Murray, Kentucky Charles W. (Lou) Herring of Indianapolis, Indiana Jerry E. Herring of Lebanon, Indiana Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by biological parents, Sherman and Nannie (Neeves) Riffey; adopted parents, AB and Grace Clement; brothers, William Riffey and Robert Riffey; sisters, Dottie Jo Roberts and Mary Lee Schartzman; and a niece, Glenna Darlene Riffey.

No services are planned at this time. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her care.
