Obituary for Billy Joe Thomas Billy Joe Thomas, age 77, of Rogersville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 27, 2018. He was a member of Persia Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War.

He was a loving husband, dad, and papaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie Thomas; brother, Jim Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Joyce Thomas; daughter, Krista (Todd) Meeks of SC; son, Seth Thomas of Johnson City; grandchildren, Manning and Emmy; brother, Coy (Shirley) Thomas; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Kevin Wisecarver officiating. Military graveside services will follow at McKinney Cemetery with military honors being rendered by the U.S. Navy and the Hawkins County Color Guard.
