Obituary for Robert Eugene Self Robert (Bob) Eugene Self, 79, was born February 7, 1939, and went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2018. He was a member of Persia United Methodist Church. Bob was a retired farmer, mechanic, and truck driver.

He began his trucking career hauling gas for Esso and Hessie Price. He spent the majority of his career over the road driving for AJ Metler. He was known for his cb radio handle as Plow Boy from Tennessee!

He was a member of the Million Mile Club without an accident. He loved playing guitar with uncle Fletch Haygood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melven and Virginia Self; brother, Delbert Self; daughter, Toni Self; wife, Margie Self; and great grandson, Jayden Self.

He is survived by his daughter, Kay Williams and husband Joe; son, Bobby; brother, Ron and Aleda Self and family, all of Rogersville; special grandson, Dalton; special great grandchildren, Jessie, Kianna, Raylin, Brytnei, and Kelsey Michelle; special sisters-in-law, Stella and Willard Lamb and Sharon Kern; and a host of friends and relatives. Special thanks to his caregivers, Julie, Velma, Stephanie, and Sally. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday, December 28, 2018, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Charles Heck and Rev. Greg Fletcher officiating.

Music will be provided by Joe Williams. Burial will follow in Persia Community Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.
