Bobby Joe Riley August 11, 1943 – February 24, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Bobby Joe Riley, 75, of Hartshorne, passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, in McAlester. Viewing will be Wednesday until 8:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 28, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rob Lungstrum. Burial will follow at Gowen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ezequiel Buenrostro, Stephen “Rowell, Dylan Buenrostro, Tyler Buenrostro, James Riley and Michael Riley. Bob Riley was born on August 11, 1943 in Gowen to V. J. and Lorene (Wilson) Riley. He grew up there and has lived in Gowen and Hartshorne all his life.

Bob and June (Connor) Riley were married on June 8, 1962 in Haileyville. Bob worked as a heavy equipment operator in the oil and gas fields, which took him to western Oklahoma and Texas for a time, but the Gowen and Hartshorne area has always been home. Bob was deeply involved in local rodeoing, as a participant in bulldogging and roping, and as a life-time member and long-time president of the Hartshorne Round-up Club.

Bob is survived by his wife, June Riley, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Mia Riley; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Ezequiel Buenrostro; grandchildren, Stephanie Ranae Riley Stear and Adam, Melissa Kay Riley, Stephen Rowell and Rayna Holt, Dylan Buenrostro and Tyler Buenrostro and Ryan Nugent; great grandchildren, Connor Stear, Hannah Stear, Melanie Stear, Acetin Rowell and Maylee Boatright; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Kaye and Alfred Smith and Jana and James Riley; and 2 brothers and 1 sister-in-law, Gary Riley and Don and Selena Riley.
