Obituary for M. Bruce Rogers Sr. Morley Bruce Rogers Sr., 88, died June 16, 2018 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 22 at Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Interment will be held in North Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21 at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Morley Bruce Rogers Sr. was born on June 14, 1930 in Warren, Ohio. He moved to Fort Dodge in 1939 when his father opened Rogers Tire Service.

He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1948. Bruce served in the U.S. Airforce. In 1950, he married Ruth L. Heitner.

He was co-owner of Rogers Tire Service with his brother Lee for more than 50 years. Bruce was a life member of Iowa State Trapshooting Assoc. and a member of Ducks Unlimited.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruth; his sons M. Bruce Rogers Jr., Martin (Sheryl) Rogers, Miles (Laura) Rogers, all of Fort Dodge; his daughters Rebecca Romine, Scarlett (Dan) Potratz, all of Sacramento, CA, Jacqueline (Howard) McCullough of Lewistown, MT, Paige (Steven) Nordmeyer of Des Moines, and Sandra Rogers of Fort Dodge; 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Morley was preceded in death by his parents Morley and Florence (Cover) Rogers, his infant son Wendall, grandson Corey Potratz, his brother Robert Lee Rogers, his sister Jeanne Brecheisen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed towards Unity Point Hospice.
