He was the son of Sarah Lee Simon Hackett and the late Wade Hackett, Jr. Bryan resided in the Promised Land Community and also resided in the West Side Community and Boston, Massachusetts during some of his childhood and early adult years. He was known as the “life of the party” to many.
Bryan always talked and mingled with everyone. He loved visiting with his family and friends and making people smile. Bryan attended Greenwood County Schools and later obtained his GED.
He also attended Job Corp in Orangeburg, South Carolina where he obtained skills in welding. As a skilled welder, Bryant was formerly employed by Industrial Steel and Machine in Anderson, South Carolina before his untimely passing. He is preceded in death by his father, maternal grandparents, Roosevelt and Josephine Simon, his paternal grandparents, Wade Hackett, Sr. and Lottie Mae Hackett; two sisters, Phyllis Warren and Paula Wright; two brothers, Stanley and Erwin “Earl” Hackett and one nephew, Dupree Hawes.
Leaving to cherish his memories besides his mother of Promised Land are three beloved daughters, Tanaja Williams of Greenwood, South Carolina; Christina “CeCe” Hackett and Catherine Hackett both of Anderson, South Carolina who he shared with Celeste Hackett; three sisters, Marlo (Charles) Callaham and Sandra Christopher both of Greenwood, South Carolina and Michelle Waymyers of Charlotte, North Carolina; one brother, Kenneth Simon of Greenwood, South Carolina; nine nieces, Latonya Lewis, Myia Brewer, Tia Woolridge, Shemicka Hawes, M’Tavia Wright, Noel Simon and Tinslee Christopher all of Greenwood, South Carolina; Crystal Hackett of Anderson, South Carolina; and Tashonda Hackett of Charleston, South Carolina; seven nephews, Thomas Lewis, Jr., Barry Wright, Jr., Brandon Christopher, and Timothy Warren of Greenwood, South Carolina; Anthonio Warren, Johnathan Warren and Trayvon Waymyers of Charlotte, North Carolina; twenty great nieces and nephews, two uncles, Larry (Cassandra) Hackett, Sr. of Greenwood, South Carolina and Robert Lee Simon, Sr., of Wilmington, Delaware, one aunt, Lucille Hackett Wells, two great aunts, Helen Mathis and Eleanor Hackett Pruteny all of Greenwood, South Carolina; a lifelong best friend, Jerry Wilson of Anderson, South Carolina and a special friend, April Hightower of Greenville, South Carolina. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the American Legion Post 224. The family is at the home of his mother, Sarah Lee Hackett, 328 Carolina Street in the Promised Land Community.
