Carol Ann (Pope) Heathcoat, 76, of Denton, Texas formerly of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on April 20, 1942 in San Diego, California to Jasper David and Dorothy (Bryant) Pope. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Avanti Senior Living in Flower Mound, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She graduated from Norman High School in 1959.

She had a love for her favorite schnauzer dog, Shadow, cardinals and gospel music. Carol and her husband Gene lived in Norman, Oklahoma, Chicago, Illinois, Seattle, Washington, Detroit, Michigan and Grapevine, Texas where they retired. Their final home was in Robson Ranch in Denton, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 21, 2018 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, Oklahoma. Pastor Bill Smithey will officiate. Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, 402 8th Street, Justin, Texas 76247. She is preceded in death by her parents J.D. and Dorothy Pope and her beloved “Mama Bryant”. She is survived by her devoted husband Gene of 57 years.

Her three loving children Kelly (Curtis) Engel of Needville, Texas, David (Marjorie) Heathcoat of Keller Texas, Kristy (Bill) Kappler of Flower Mound, Texas and her eight grandchildren, J.D. (Meredith) Heathcoat, Kelsey Engel, Megan (Alex) Catanzaro, Wilson Engel, William Kappler III, Connor Heathcoat, Ethan Kappler and Samuel Kappler. Also, by her sister Louise (Randy) Ledger and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her family would like to thank Avanti Senior Living and Ardent Hospice both of Flower Mound, Texas for the excellent care of her.
