Carol Sue Cates, 78, of South Bend, IN passed away at 1:30 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2018 at Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 28, 1940 in South Bend, IN to the late Edmund and Elsie (Bratcher) Raderstorf. Carol is survived by her daughter, April (Michael) Nichols of AL; sons, Troy Cates of IN, Donald Cates of MT, Richard (Rhonda) Cates of FL, Tracy Cates, IN and Kerry (Allison) Cates of IN; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and brother, Gene (Claudia) Raderstorf of IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and one brother. Carol lived in Niles, MI most of her life, living in South Bend, IN for the last twenty years. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in South Bend.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2018 at United Pentecostal Church, 4609 S. Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN. Pastor Kenneth Mendenhall will officiate. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.

Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.
