Cecil Albert Flowers, Jr., age 75, of Hot Springs, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018. He was born on March 27, 1943 in Hot Springs, the son of Cecil Albert Flowers, Sr. and Sara Odelia Pogue Flowers. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maureen Flowers; and sister, Mildred Mullins.

Cecil was a Methodist in faith. He was a graduate of Southern State College (now Southern Arkansas University) with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. However, he spent his professional life using his green thumb as an accomplished horticulturalist.

His savvy for nurturing plants was renowned. His poinsettias even graced the White House at Christmas time. He is survived by his brother, Robert Flowers of Spokane, WA; his brother-in-law, Sam Mullins of Hot Springs; nephew, Mike Mullins and wife Lori of Royal; niece, Teresa King and husband Shawn of Pearcy; two grand-nephews and two grand-nieces, Duncan and Calis Mullins and Tanner and Cassidy King; and cousins, Larry Flowers and wife Carole of Benton and Jim Flowers and wife Jackie of Hot Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs with Bro. J. O. Passman officiating. Interment will be in Morning Star Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Larry Flowers, Shawn King, Tanner King, Mark Smith, Ralph Wacaster, and Jim Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be the compassionate staff of both the Lakewood Convalescent Home and the National Park Medical Center ICU. Guest registry is at www.
