Charles Harland Jones, 93, of Bowling Green, Indiana, passed away at 10:00am on Saturday, November 3, 2018, with his family by his side, while staying at Cloverleaf Health Care in Knightsville. Harland was born on February 21, 1925, the son of Charles and Annetta (Thompson) Jones. On July 20, 1947, he married Mary Jane Knox.
They celebrated 71 years of marriage on July 20, 2018. They lived and worked on the family farm as long as they were able. He was an active member of… the Bowling Green United Methodist Church and held many offices.
He was a member of the Emmaus Community and worked on several walks. Harland was a member of Farm Bureau INC. and Western Indiana Credit Union.
He enjoyed helping at the Bowling Green Old Settlers for many years and truly enjoyed helping others. He was proceeded in death by his parents Charles and Annetta Jones; mother and father-in-law Plummer and Iva Knox; a sister Mae Swarens; an infant son Charles Warren Jones; and a great-grandson Dylan Keiser. Harland is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Jane Jones; a daughter Dorothy Keiser (Forest); sons: Wayne Jones (Mary) and Keith Jones (Paula); 7 grandchildren: Cheryl Stearley, Melinda Sheese (Gary), Kevin Keiser (Teresa), Jeremy Jones (Jonelle), Jeffrey Jones (Miranda), Christopher Jones (Carrie), Patricia Hall (Aaron); great-grandchildren: Ethan Sheese, Joshua Sheese, Shelby Sheese, Colton Sheese, Curtis Stearley, Kenzie Pittman (Bryce), Gracie Jones, Porter Jones, Elaina Jones, and Elliot Jones; step-great-grandchildren: Travis Beltz, Robert Beltz, Andi Burozski (Adam), Leeghan Clifford, and Kinley Pair; great-great-grandchildren: Katherine Moses and Oliver Pittman; sisters-in-law: Thelma Swank and Violet Knox; several nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Visitation will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 East National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834 on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 4pm-8pm. Services will be at the funeral home, on Wednesday, at 11:00am.
Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, East of Bowling Green. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bowling Green United Methodist Church P.O. Box 42 Bowling Green, IN 47833.
