Chesterine J. “Tessie” Ostasiewski (Wolkowicz) Chesterine J. “Tessie” Ostasiewski, 97, wife of the late Leonard F. Ostasiewski, died Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Cheshire Regional Rehab. Born in Meriden on January 6, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bernice (Tomisk) Wolkowicz. She had resided in Meriden for most of her life, moving to Southington in the 2010.

and attended Meriden schools. Tessie retired from the Meriden School System, was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and a member of the St. Stanislaus’ Sunshine Club. She is survived a daughter Rita (Bruce) Gilbert of Southington, four sons; Edward (Shirley) Ostasiewski of Tucson, AZ, Francis (Jacqueline) Ostasiewski of Greenboro, NC, Kenneth (Laurie) Ostasiewski of Colorado Springs, CO, and Leonard (Lorraine) Ostasiewski of Charlestown, NH.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren; Laura, Edward Jr., Kelly, Brian, Sarah, Katherine, Elizabeth, Keri and Kayla, seven great grandchildren; Ashlyn, Regan, Janak, Priya, Ethan, Julia and Edward. two sisters Mary Olszewski of Meriden and Irene Church of Meriden, a brother Edwin Wolkowicz and several nieces and nephews. Also leaves stepdaughter, Rosemary Johns (Douglas) of England, UK.

She was predeceased by her sister Bernice Cossette. Ostasiewski family would like to extend a deep appreciation for the love and compassionate care of the Staff of Cheshire Regional. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Faustina Parish, St. Stanislaus Campus, 82 Akron Street, Meriden.

Everyone is to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden on Sunday, April 29th from 2 to 5.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, CT Chapter, 200 Executive Boulevard, Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
