Obituary for Richard A. Gagne Sr. Richard (Buffy/Dick) Gagne Sr., husband of the late Beatrice “Bea” Gagne, 78, passed away suddenly by a broken heart on Sunday April 15, 2018. Born in Meriden on January 28, 1940, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary (Dupuis) Gagne. He was a devoted husband to his wife of fifty-nine years.

Dick attended Wilcox Technical School and worked at Charles Parker Company as a machinist and finished his career at Revere. He was an avid fly fisherman, spending many days fishing with his friends, children and grandchildren throughout the years. He and his wife spent most of their time these last few years spoiling their grandchildren and great-grandchildren Buffy is survived by his four children; Richard A (Laura) Gagne Jr., Susan (Gary) VanTassell, Brian (Keila) Gagne and Cynthia Gagne, seven grandchildren; Richard, Joseph, Tressa, Kelly, Steven, Shannon and Gary Jr., two step-grandchildren, Jorge and Yaliek, nine great grandchildren; his sister Shirley and her husband Peter Golas; his brother Leonard and his wife Christine and his sister Nancy and her husband Danny Bushy.

He was predeceased by his wife of fifty-nine years and his brother Robert. Our father was a very strong individual. He made sure we did our homework and were involved in some type of sports.

Whether it be wrestling, baseball, football and of course, softball. If he wasn’t watching us play, he would be behind the plate umpiring. He made sure that the family was together for every holiday.

We will miss him dearly. He will forever be in our hearts. There will be a small memorial service for family and friends held at St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center St., Meriden.
