Obituary for Teresa Collazo Teresa Collazo, 89, wife of Rafael Collazo, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Midstate Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on February 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Juan Ramon Lugo and Francisca Perez-DeLugo. She had resided in Meriden since 1950 and had graduated from schools in Puerto Rico.

Mrs. Collazo was employed by New Departure/General Motors for many years and she also worked at International Silver Company. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. Mrs. Collazo loved to cook and crochet.

She loved caring for her family. Besides her husband, Rafael, she is survived by her daughter, Carmen Coleman and her husband Daniel of New Britain; her son, Rafael Jr. “Papo” and his wife Julie of Berlin; her grandson, Jamie Collazo and his wife Mindy; three step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Alexander Gonzalez.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center Street, Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
