She served her country proudly in the United States Navy from 1980 until 1982, stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas. Christine always treasured spending time with her family, especially if it involved cooking for them. Christine had a big, loving heart, with a soft spot for all animals, particularly the baby ones.

Christine constantly gave, without asking for anything in return. When she saw there was need, she tried to help. Despite the difficulties of going through chemotherapy, Christine never wanted to be considered a bother or a burden.

She always put others before herself, even when she was at her weakest point. She was kind and thoughtful to everyone that came into her life and her beautiful presence will be very missed. Christine was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Jerry Atterholt.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 22 years, Karl Schmidt; daughters, Monica Kruger, Molly Tucker, and Katey Tucker; stepson, Jeff Schmidt and his wife, Sarah; grandchildren, Lilly Cain, Natalie Schmidt, Hannah Schmidt and Chloe Schmidt; brother, Ken Atterholt; sisters, Anita Boone, Deb Young, Cindy Martensen, and Cathy Atterholt; and many other relatives and friends. favorite_border Donations Pledges Donations may be made to: American Cancer Society P.O.
