Clarise “Mickey” Fresolo May 17, 1925 – December 29, 2018 Share this obituary Local Florists Sign Guestbook Paid obituary with picture Times Argus The World Montpelier, VT Clarise M.“Mickey” Fresolo, 93, of Montpelier, passed away peacefully surrounded by family December 29th, 2018 at Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin. Born May 17, 1925 in Morristown, Vermont, to Willis and Gertrude (Alexander) McManis, she was the fifth of six children. Mickey attended Montpelier Schools.
She met the love of her life, Michael Fresolo, Sr. at the Miss Montpelier Diner and they were soon married on November 25, 1943. A loving and devoted mother of six children, Mickey spent her life caring for others. She was a nurse’s aide for Heaton Hospital and Heaton House and it was a career that she truly loved, however her family was her pride and joy.
Mickey was also very proud to have been a resident of Prospect Street in Montpelier for 90 years, where she made lifelong friends with her neighbors. Small yet mighty, Mickey touched the lives of many people during her 93 years. She will be remembered for her strength, compassion, quick wit, fierce loyalty and as a role model, mentor and mother to all.
Mickey is survived by her children, Cecile White and husband Ed, Susan Fresolo and fiancé Frank Prima III, Pamela Fresolo and partner James Williams, Lisa Thurston and husband Rick and son-in-law, Mark Renner. She was a doting Gram to three grandchildren, Amber Smith and husband Kevin, Kaley Thurston, Emma Renner and Gramammy to Ava Thurston. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 43 years, Michael Sr., son Michael Jr. and daughter Janell Renner as well as her siblings, Cecil McManis, Willard McManis, Margaret Peatman, Glendene Higgins and Clarence McManis. After the loss of her beloved son Mike, Mickey’s heart began to mend again as she formed an unbreakable bond with her son-in-law Rick. Mickey was able to live independently and stay in her Prospect Street home until age 90 thanks to the love and care given by Rick and Lisa.
For that Mickey was forever grateful. Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 3rd from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Guare and Sons Funeral Home, Montpelier. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 4th at 11 a.m. at Guare and Sons with reception to follow.
