Clifford’s Obituary Clifford J. Rossignol 1934 – 2019 SCARBOROUGH – Clifford J. Rossignol, 84, of Scarborough, passed away at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House on January 15, 2019. Clifford was born on July 28, 1934, in Saint Agatha, Maine, to the late Patrick and Leona (Nadeau) Rossignol. Clifford grew up in Madawaska, ME.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He later studied engineering at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia. After a career with the federal government, he retired as the New Jersey State Director of the Economic Development Administration.

He was an avid reader, a dog lover, a fan of Dixieland Jazz, and the arts in general. He was also a big sports fan, especially the Red Sox! In his younger years, he played basketball, tennis, and golf.

A devoted husband and father, Clifford is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mariette (Chabot) Rossignol; his two children, Karen Rossignol, and Greg Rossignol and his wife Giovana; his grandchildren, Hannah Miller, Dana Miller and her husband Garrett, and Chelsea Miller; his great grandchildren, Addilyn, Charlotte, and Cayden; and his sister, Rita Raccuzzo. Services will take place at a later date. Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, P.O. Box 336, Westbrook, ME 04098.
