Obituary for Cora Elizabeth Grigsby Cora Elizabeth Grigsby, 95, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born May 14, 1923 in Cairo, Illinois to the late George Thomas and Doris Marie (Borgard) Jarrett. Cora served in the U.S. Army from 1944 until 1946.

She and Gerald Grigsby were married June 1, 1946 in Paducah, Kentucky. Cora attended Mt. Auburn Christian Church where she also cleaned for many years.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Loving survivors include daughters, Geralyn (Michael) Cray of Cape Girardeau and Carla (Monty) Dodson of Thebes, Illinois; grandchildren, Yvaughna Maglone, Vaughn Hinkebein, Jr. and Jason Grigsby; great-grandchildren, Tyler Dodd, Deonna, Hailley, and Angel Maglone, Autumn and Samuel Hinkebein; great-great grandchildren, Hunter Dodd and Paisley Wright.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Visitation will be Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.

Funeral will be Monday, January 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Stan Hargis officiating. Entombment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the family.
