Obituary for David Briggs Sr. David A. Briggs, Sr., 74, of Palmyra, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Durham, NC, January 31, 1944, he was the son of Robert Kuhl and Esther Belle McCormick Briggs. Dave retired as a linesman for Frontier Communications Corporation.

He enjoyed collecting trains and light houses. Dave is survived by his wife of 30 years, Judy Hancock Briggs, whom he married on December 26, 1987; two sons, David A. Briggs, Jr. husband of Kim N., and Robert A. Briggs, both of Palmyra; one step-son, Michael L. Nelson husband of Marsha of Annville; one step-daughter, Amy E. Fasick wife of Chuck of Mechanicsburg; two brothers and two sisters; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Alice Schaffer of Middletown; and two sisters-in-law, Rhoda Hoffner and Linda Jumper both of Middletown. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn.

A celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 2 PM at 14 East Ridge Road, Palmyra. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033.
