David Donald Lynch, 89, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at his residence. Private burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Lynch was born on September 26, 1928, in Hillsboro, IL, to the late David O. and Fern (Hults) Lynch.

He married Betty Jean Osborn and they later divorced. He married Phyllis Dodd Hayes, in 1984, in Forsyth, MO. She survives in Hillsboro, IL.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at Caterpillar in Decatur, IL for 32 years. Mr. Lynch lived in Bement, IL and Hillsboro, IL.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Hillsboro, IL and a member of VFW Post #1306, Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Lynch is survived by his wife and son, Gerald David (wife Ellen) Lynch of Litchfield, IL, five grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Along with his parents Mr. Lynch was also preceded in death by three sisters, Ellen Lynch, Evelyn Macintosh, and June Wilson, and two brothers, Elbert Lynch and John Lynch.

Memorials may be given to Calvary Baptist Church, Hillsboro, IL.
