David Smielewski, Jr. formerly of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Round Lake, Illinois went home to Jesus on January 27th at his home in Kingsford, Michigan. David was a master carpenter who worked for several local Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois contractors. He also had his own remodeling companies before working as a supervisor with Gundlach Champion Inc. of Iron Mountain, Michigan.

David was a generous and kind soul who offered his services to various churches and family and friends. He also served as commander of the Sons of the American Legion Post 1170 of Round Lake, Illinois. David had an immense love of music and would often be seen with his harmonica in hand.

He is survived by his four sons, Kyle Smielewski, Brandon Smielewski, David Smielewski III and Jasper Harkness. Also surviving are his mother Kristine (Robert) Siebert of Ingleside, IL, father David (Irene) Smielewski Sr. of Kenosha, WI, his stepmother Barbara Rankin of Kenosha, WI, his sister Kristy Marva of Antioch, IL and his partner Michelle Martin of Kingsford, MI, among many other step sisters and brothers, relatives and friends who all loved him dearly. Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 9th at the Erickson, Rochon and Nash Funeral Home at 901 Carpenter Ave.

Iron Mountain, MI. Visitation will be from 9 – 11am with service at 11am. Interment will be at Green Ridge Cemetery, Kenosha, Wisconsin, in the Spring.
