David Brown is running, playing and singing with the angels after a nine year battle with Pompe Disease. David was born on November 21, 2007 and died on October 3, 2018. He lived in Newark, WV with his mom, Sarah Lewis Brown, and his dad, Shawn Healy.

He is also survived by his father, John Brown of Parkersburg, his maternal grandparents, Steve and Brenda Lewis and Marty & Bobbie Corbitt, both of Newark, his uncles Jason Lewis (Sharon) of Newark, Josh Lewis of Parkersburg, his aunts Tracy Brown of Parkersburg and Becca Gurrell of Vermont, Tessa Slater (Mike) of Harrisville, WV and Autumn Corbitt of Newark, his sisters Johnna, Morgan and Georgia, several cousins and great-aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents David and Jean Brown, great-grandparents Harvey and Sylvia Lewis, Shirley Perrine and recently Mary Perrine, and aunt Kristi Gravely. He leaves behind a huge team of doctors, nurses, physical and occupational therapists and teacher, many who became a part of his family.

Special thanks to his nurse, Amanda Wayne and dear family friends J.B. and Becky Kerby and Tammy White. The funeral services will be Sunday 2:00 pm at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Tim Bell officiating. Visitation will be Saturday 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm and Sunday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the family plot in Newark, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the United Pompe Foundation in David’s name for research of Pompe Disease, 5100 N.
