Albert Lewis Willis Jr., 94, of Guysville, OH died November 21, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Albert was born on July 20, 1924, the son of Albert Lewis and Marry Mildred Earl Lewis. He was drafted into the Army at age 19 and served for 2 years and 8 months.

He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the African Theater of Operation, the European Theater of Operation and Rome and Naples Italy. He was attached to the 5th Air Force and he built runways and refueled B17 and T47 fighter planes. He was a PFC and awarded the Good Conduct Medal and 1 Bronze Battle Star.

He retired as a sheet metal worker after 35 years, with Parkersburg Local 299 and Columbus Local 98. Albert received his salvation at Mt. Liberty Church in Cutler, OH.

He was a member of Parkersburg VFW 3478. He was an avid farmer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and hunting for mushrooms. Albert is survived by 3 sons Glenn Willis (Debbie) of Lancaster, OH, Jerry and Robbie Willis of both of Guysville; 2 daughters Linda Luman (Kenneth) of Little Hocking and Carol Jackson (Jake) of Walker, WV; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; a very special friend Glenna Willis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife, Birdie M. Willis, daughter Ellen Louise Willis, brothers Johnny, Bill, Harold and Richard Willis, sister Helen Estep Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday November 23, 2018, at the Leavitt Funeral Home Parkersburg with Pastor Clarence L. Miller, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens with military rites provided by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm Friday.

The family will have a meal following the committal service at the Leavitt Family Center. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Veterans Administration www. volunteer.
