Betty L. Beckner Betty Lou Beckner, 75 of Parkersburg, passed away November 12, 2018 at Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born in Parkersburg October 1, 1943, a daughter of the late Samuel G. and Mamie (Ahart) Anderson. Mrs. Beckner, along with her late husband Jim, owned and operated The Shirt Factory and Sporting Goods in south Parkersburg which they opened in 1977.

Betty was a homemaker, a dedicated mom and loving grandmother. She enjoyed cooking meals for her family and friends and was a certified beautician. Surviving are her two sons: Dr. James Patrick Beckner (Sherry) and Dr. David Cummins Beckner (Danielle), grandchildren: Shannon Gard and Ashton, Sarah, James, Zachary, Brogan, Jess, James Cayman and David Cruz Beckner, great grandchildren William and Allie Gard, sisters Jane Deem (Jim) and Patricia Shepard (Gene), brother Bill Anderson (Sonja), nieces and nephews and loyal companion Barney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James C. Beckner in 2016, her sister Peggy Sue McKown and an infant sister Angel. Funeral services will be Friday 11AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services. The family would like to thank her devoted neighbors and friends Linda McCune and Joyce Wilfong, Dr. Shah and his staff, the nurses at CCMC Oncology and her caregivers, Becky and Barbie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the Humane Society of Parkersburg PO Box 392 Parkersburg, WV 26102.
