Dean Edwin Smith , 62, of Parkersburg passed away July 13, 2018 at the Residence in Parkersburg. Dean was born on August 16, 1955 in Parkersburg, WV and was the son of Paul Smith and Clara Estella Smith. He worked in construction and was a US Army veteran.

He loved the outdoors and animals. He was known as a fun loving guy who loved to laugh. Dean is survived by five children, Mary Duskey, Yvonne Duskey, Clara “Nicki” Smith, Dean “Bub” Smith, Jr., Margie Nolan; four siblings, Dale (Cheryl) Smith, Estella Watson, Roger Davis, Karen (Brad) Rook; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Smith. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018, 12:00 pm at Mounwood Park. Leavitt Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
