Dennis Crabtree, 72, of Hollister, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and daughter by his side on April 22, 2018. Dennis was born in Salinas to Floyd Crabtree and Betty Curtzwiler on March 21, 1946. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the Navy.

After the military he began a 30 year career with the Salinas Fire Department, retiring in 1999. Together he and his bride of nearly 44 years enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. Dennis is preceded in death by his son, Steven, brother, Bryce, and his parents.

Dennis is survived by his wife Debra, daughter, Shelley Ballard, son-in-law John Ballard, grandchildren Andrew, Bryce, and Victoria, sister, Becky Dayton (Bill), Lucky Boy and Bear, and many cherished family and friends. Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 West San Luis St. Salinas, CA 93901. Reception to follow at the Prunedale Grange, 17890 Moro Rd.
