VERONA-Dolores VanKirk, 87 years old of Madison, WI passed away Monday, April 30th, 2018 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI. She was born on May 1st, 1930 in Owen WI the daughter of Louis Hause and Martha Reich. A true friend Hoa Luu, who she enjoyed conversations, coffee, evening phone calls, and just spending time together will always be in her heart.

Dolores is the widow of Warren VanKirk, and survived by many relatives & friends. The years spent living with her daughter Kelly Janke & (son-in-law) Shane Prichard in Madison will always be cherished. She enjoyed sewing & quilting with her many friends and visitors that she met while working at Hancock fabrics & Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Dolores was also an active member of her church, The United Church of Christ in Fitchburg. She loved to sit in the back row with her fellow “gigglers”. Dolores had a passion for cooking & baking and treasured every opportunity to share her love in this with anyone.

She wanted everyone to know her secret pie crust recipe did not include water, instead Dolores replaced water with Vodka. Always told with a Dolores smile, of course. A private ceremony in her hometown of Humbird, WI will be upcoming with her ashes being placed in a family plot.
