Obituary for Dorothy Gladys Mathews Dorothy G. Mathews, born June 13, 1930, went to be with the Lord June 22, 2018. She suffered from a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Carrie Allen Wright; her husband, Verlie Mathews Jr.; son, Verlie Mathews III; daughter, Betty Sellers; one grandson; one great granddaughter; one great great grandson; her sister, Bonnie Smith; and several half brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Bill and Sharon Mathews, Elmo and Pam Mathews, and Ricky and Mary Frances Matthews; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm till 2:00 pm Sunday (06/24/18) at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm.

Burial will follow at Harris Cemetery on Grassy Creek Rd. Christian-Sells Funeral Home is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.
