Dorothy Lee Wharton, 91 died Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Hartley Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pocomoke. She was the daughter of the late William Edward Taylor and Mary Elizabeth (Taylor) Taylor. Her late husband Theodore Wharton preceded her in death.

She was formerly employed with Perdue, Inc. and the former Dulaney Foods of Fruitland, MD. She was a member of St. James AME Church – Taylor’s Gate in Snow Hill, MD. Her survivors include one sister: Maisie Collins of Snow Hill, MD and a host of nieces and nephews.

Thirteen siblings: George, Sr., Ida, Nettie, Charles, Ella Mae, Marion, Elizabeth (Liz), Carrie, Edmund, James, Edwin, Blanche, and Curtis preceded her in death. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019, at St. James AME Church – Taylor’s Gate, Snow Hill, MD where friends may view one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
