Dowin Taz Dalton, 70, of 88 Bowe St., Danville, Va. , passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018, at Duke University Medical Center. He was born April 22, 1948, in Danville, to the late Ethel Prevette Dalton and the late Marvin B. Dalton, Sr

Mr. Dalton is survived by his wife Meryl Webb Dalton. He worked for Rush Wholesale for 30 years, and was a supervisor for Lawrence & Nester prior to his retirement. During his retirement, he also worked part time for Auto Zone.

Mr. Dalton was a good and faithful servant to his Lord. He was a member of Shining Light Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Dalton is survived by his daughter, Kelly D. Gibson and husband, Kenneth of Danville; his sister, Sue D. Touchstone and husband, Morgan of Dry Fork, Va.

; his brother, Marvin B. Dalton, Jr. and wife, Jeannette of Oregon Hill, N.C.; his special nephew, Jim Goggin; his grandson, Kyle Wayne Gibson; and his special pet, Lucy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dalton was predeceased by his sister, Janice D. Beadles, and his brother, Roger Dalton. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2018, at Danville Memorial Gardens, with Rev.

Clayton Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 3, 2018, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Norris West End Chapel, and at other times at the home of his daughter, Kelly Gibson, 136 Bowe St., Danville, Va. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Shining Light Baptist Church, 2815 Blairmont Dr., Danville, VA 24540.
