Jimmie Charles Taylor, 84, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart, VA. He was born on September 16, 1933 in Henry County, VA to the late Harry Maynard Taylor and Lula Stanley Taylor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Patty Eanes, Norine Davis, Nancy Gauldin, Francis Lawrence, and Louise Young ; and brother, Elmo Taylor Gravely.

Mr. Taylor attended and served at First Baptist Church of Martinsville before moving to Myrtle Beach and attending Timberlake Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was a member of the Martinsville Jaycees and served on mission trip to Hungary and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War.

Mr. Taylor worked at American Furniture of Martinsville as plant manager, then went to work at Nationwide Homes, and continued to serve his community through T. & T. Home Improvement until his retirement. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Keesee Turner Taylor of the home; daughter, Victoria Susan Taylor Wyatt of Martinsville, VA; sisters, Clara Spencer of Harrison, AR, and Mary Ruth Cox of Martinsville, VA; grandchildren, Susan Epperson Wheeler of Martinsville, VA, and Richard Anderson Wyatt of Kernersville, NC; great-grandchildren, Taylor Amber Wheeler, Carter Brandon Wheeler, and Sidney Madai Wheeler.
