Richard M. Floyd, Jr., age 88 of Danville went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, June 4, 2018 at Sovah Health of Danville. He was born June 5, 1929 in Danville to the late Richard M. Floyd, Sr. and the late Lucille Edwards Floyd. Richard was married to the late Jean Prather Floyd.

He was a member of the Emmanuel Church of the Brethren. Mr. Floyd is survived by three sons, William K. Floyd and wife Lori of Axton, VA, Richard W. Floyd and wife Kathy of Danville and Fred M. Floyd of… Read More » Danville; three grandchildren, Timothy, Eric and Aaron Floyd and four great-grandchildren, Angel Perkins, Sophia, Elijah and Carter Floyd. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by two brothers.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, June 8, 2018 at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel. 511 Church Ave. , Danville, VA 24541 with the Rev.

Curtis English and Rev. Lisa Nordan officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA.

The family will receive friends 10:00 am till 10:50 am, Friday, June 8, 2018 prior to the service at Norris Funeral Services, Inc., West End Chapel and other times at the residence of Richard Wayne Floyd, 1903 Allen Place, Danville, VA 24540. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel Church of the Brethren, 1530 Westover Dr., Danville, VA 24541 or the charity of your choice.
