Ruby Love Merricks Altice, 88, of Martinsville, VA passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018. She was born February 1, 1930 in Callands, VA to the late Luther Thomas Merricks and Madie Love Wright Merricks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Leroy Altice, Sr.; sisters, Mary Merricks and Louise Arnold; and brothers, James Merricks, William Fredrick Merricks, and Harry Merricks.

Altice, Jr. (Mary Strader Altice) of Martinsville, VA, and Tim R. Altice of Richmond, VA; sister, Anne Tolley; sister-in-law, Janet Merricks; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Jerry Woods officiating.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. also at Norris Funeral Services and a register book will be available other times at Norris. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Stone Ambulance Services, 827 Starling Ave, Martinsville, VA 24112 or to Bassett Rescue Squad, 1950 Riverside Dr., Bassett, VA 24055.
