Clemon Agnew Rorrer of Martinsville, VA passed away Friday, July 20, 2018. She was born July 18, 1929 in Patrick County, VA to the late Tiny Kansas Thomas Agnew and Ace Palmer Agnew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Cecil Raymond Rorrer; brothers, Woodrow, Wilbert, David, Aubrey, Hansel, Ray, Edgar, and Grover Agnew; sisters, Lucille Agnew and Dorsey Mae McAlexander; and son-in-law, Dennis K. Eggleston.

She graduated from Mosley Flint School of Real Estate and was a real estate broker and owner/operator of Rorrer and Associates Realtors. She also worked for Bassett Furniture Industry Corporate Office, was a Stanley Home Products representative, and in-store demo specialist.

Mrs. Rorrer was a member of the Woodmen of the World Fraternity and Martinsville-Henry County Realtors Association and volunteered with Hospice and the Red Cross. She also worked as a CNA and licensed phlebotomist. She was affectionately known as Memaw by friends and family and never met a stranger.

She loved music, traveling, learning, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Woolard (Chuck) of Winston-Salem, NC, Karen Eggleston of Martinsville, VA, and Becky Lovell (Robert) of Martinsville, VA; and sister, Irene A. Witt of Martinsville, VA. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Shannon Keith (Mike), Tonya Dillard (Lamar), Barton Varner, Greg Washburn (Amy), and Mark Washburn (Angie); eight great-grandchildren; and beloved companion, Pooh Bear.

A special thanks for their extra special loving care to the staff at Haven of Rest in Ridgeway, VA (owned/operated by Karen and Keith Hicks) and staff at Mountain Valley Hospice. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Dr. David Towler officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 also at Norris Funeral Services.

Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the home of Karen Eggleston on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 18 Diana Court, Martinsville, VA and other times at the home of Becky and Robert Lovell, 65 Derbyshire Lane, Martinsville, VA. Memorial donations may be made to Edwards Adult Day Center, 431 Commonwealth Boulevard East, Martinsville, VA 24112.
