John B. Young, age 82, of 128 Briarcliff Lane, Danville, Va. went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Stratford Rehab of Danville. He was born August 31, 1935 in South Carolina to the late Peacher Young and the late Amy Earle Young.

John was married to Doris E. Young, who survives, of the residence. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and he worked in the maintenance department of the Danville Public School System for many years.

Payne and husband Linwood, as well as two nieces, Jacqueline Wilson and Vickie P. Donahue. He is also survived by a host of additional nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, June 11, 2018 at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave.

, Danville, VA 24541 with the Rev. Scales officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, VA.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 pm until 5:00 pm, Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Norris Funeral Services, Inc., West End Chapel and other times at the residence at 128 Briarcliff Lane, Danville, Va. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. and Crematory, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave. Danville is serving the Young family.
