Leonard A. Howerton, age 88 of Danville VA passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at Riverside Health and Rehab center. He was born January 21, 1930 in Pittsylvania County to the late Lacy A. Howerton and the late Mary Young Howerton. Leonard was married to the late Edna B. Howerton.

Leonard worked as a coordinator for the VA State Highway Safety Commission till his retirement; in addition he was a Lieutenant for the Danville, VA Police Department as well as working for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Norris Funeral Services, Inc., West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave.

, Danville, VA 24541 with the Rev. David Turbyfill officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, VA.

The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Norris Funeral Services, Inc., West End chapel prior to the service. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. and Crematory, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave. Danville is serving the Howerton family.
