Kinley IV, 71, of Route 426, Corry, Pa. , died on Monday, February 4, 2019 at his residence. He was born June 12, 1947, in Corry, Pa.

, a son of the late Lt. Cmdr. Edward C. and Eleanor Christensen Kinley.

Ed was raised and educated in Corry, graduating from Corry Area High School in 1965. He then attended and graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelors Degree in English and a Masters Degree in Institutional Administration. Ed then earned his Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Ed has worked many places throughout the United States including: University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA, Gennessee Community College, Batavia, NY, Eastern New Mexico University, Portales, NM and most recently for Indiana State University, Terre Haute, IN where he was the Chief Information Officer and Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs. He retired in 2011 when he returned to Corry. He was a member of the Amateur Ham Radio Club in Corry, Pa.

Ed enjoyed gardening, woodworking, technology, Notre Dame football, Shakespeare, writing poetry and spending time outdoors. Ed is survived by his wife Penny L. Alward Kinley whom he married on December 1, 1973 in Columbus, IN; two sons, Edward R. Kinley V and his wife Crystal of Rio Rancho, NM and Christopher S. Kinley and his wife Amanda of Clovis, NM. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Bailey A., Alexis M., Edward VI, Celestia J., and Christian N. Family and friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa.
