Edward Ford “Mac” MacNichol III, 76, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Dennett Road Manor, Oakland. Born July 18, 1942, in Beverly, MA, he was the son of the late Edward Ford and Anne (Ayers) MacNichol Jr. Mac was a computer and software programmer and was an I.T. engineer for IBM. He enjoyed working with electronics and was a ham radio operator.

He was the owner of Chimney Corner in the 1990’s. He is survived by his wife, Dian MacNichol; one son, Edward Ford “Sam” MacNichol IV, Perry Hall, MD; two daughters, Laura MacNichol, Parkton, MD and Faith MacNichol, Oakland; one sister, Anne Brownell, Somerville, MA; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. At Mac’s request, he was cremated.

A memorial service will be conducted at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A. 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, MD, 21550 on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Sam Moon officiating. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A. is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be sent to his family at www.
