Obituary for Elaine Marie Petersen Elaine Marie (Dunder) Petersen, 90, of Grand Island passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 to 6 at All Faiths Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 on Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Pastor Bonnie Linton-Hendricks will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapman Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.

Elaine was born October 11, 1928 near Archer, daughter of Charles and Anna (Davis) Dunder. She grew up on a family farm near Archer and attended rural school. She attended Central City High School graduating in 1946.

On August 12, 1947 she married Heber “Pete” Petersen of Groton, New York. They lived in Groton a year and then moved back to Grand Island. For over 22 years, Elaine was employed by the Veterans Canteen Service at the Veterans Affairs Hospital.

Elaine was an excellent cook and while employed at the canteen she perfected the art of making pie crusts. Elaine enjoyed counted cross stitching, puzzles and watching sports. Elaine loved to have her family gathered together, and spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Terry (Carol) Petersen of Grand Island, Linda of Seattle, WA, Rex Petersen of Chapman, Bill (Diane) Petersen of Loveland, Co, Anna (Victor) Mues of Chapman; sister and brother-in-law, Judy (Robert) Hilder of Central City. Her memory is also cherished by her grandchildren, Jamie and Courtney Petersen of Lincoln, LeRoy and Sue Yen Brinks of Seattle, Lori Johnston of Seattle, Deidre and Mike Shearon of Seattle, Kimberly Haverluck of Grand Island, Stuart and Lori Mues of Ravenna, Jessica and Eric Carraher of Grand Island, Berry Petersen of Lincoln, and Mandy Petersen of WI; 8 great- grandchildren; along with her favorite four-legged companion, Elvis. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herber; granddaughter, Jill Boudreaux; and sister, Betty Jonak.
