Elmer Wittmer October 15, 1937 – February 17, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Elmer Wittmer, 81, formerly of State Hwy 89 & 77, Spartansburg, Pa. died on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Corry Manor. He was born October 15, 1937 in Uniontown, Oh.

, a son of the late Alvin and Mary Troyer Wittmer. Elmer was raised and educated in Uniontown, Oh. As a young man, he worked as a plumber in the Uniontown area.

In 1967 he moved with his wife to Concord Township where they owned and operated a dairy farm. He also worked for a short time at C J Peterson & Son Plumbing Company. Elmer continued doing plumbing work in the area part time for many years.

After moving to Spartansburg in 1997, Elmer helped his wife manage the Dutch Treat Restaurant in Spartansburg for many years. He is a current member of the First United Methodist Church in Corry, Pa. , and former member of the Valley View Mennonite Church in Spartansburg, Pa.

, where he sang in the Mens Quartet. He enjoyed going to farm auctions, hunting and fishing. Elmer especially liked spending time with his family.

Elmer is survived by his wife, Mary Hostetler Wittmer, whom he married on December 31, 1955 in Hartville, OH. ; two daughters, Patricia Schwabenbauer and her husband Frank of Corry, Pa. and Muriel Birkey and her husband Duane of Foosland, Il.

; two sons, Lyn Wittmer and his wife Martha of Corry, Pa. and Gary Wittmer and his wife Nicole of Middlebury, IN. ; two sisters Martha Weaver and her husband Edwin of Quaker City, OH and Dorothy Overholt and her husband Walter of Quaker City, OH.

; and a brother Merle Wittmer and his wife Marty of Quaker City, OH. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, David Schwabenbauer (Kellie), Tara Chelton (Dan), Tiffany Miscik (Cole), Alicia Rensberger (Richard), Elaine Mabry (Dan), Mason Wittmer (Jessica), Holly Benson (Cody) and Grace Wittmer, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call at the First United Methodist Church, 650 Worth St., Corry, Pa.

, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and attend the funeral service there on Thursday at 11 a.m. Rev. Jonathan Fehl will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Spartansburg, Pa.
