Hickey Jr., 82, of Wright St., Corry, Pa. , died Monday, February 11, 2019, at Aristacare at Park Avenue in Meadville, Pa. He was born February 18, 1936 in Corry, Pa.

, a son of the late John “Joe” and Margaret Pitts Hickey Sr. Jim was raised and educated in Corry. Following high school he served with the U. S. Air Force as a jet mechanic during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he returned to Corry and worked at Raymond Manufacturing (Associated Spring-Barnes Group).

Jim worked there for over 30 years until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the VFW Post #264 and the American Legion Post #365 in Corry and was a volunteer for the Stanford Hose Company. Jim is the last surviving member of the Stanford Hose Company that was injured in the March 29, 1970 Easter Fire.

He enjoyed running, walking and working in and around his house. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Marie “Tiny” Hartman. Jim is survived by a sister, Mary Thomson of Corry, Pa.

, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa. , on Friday from 4 pm until the time of the funeral service there at 5 pm.

Pastor Les Utegg will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Corry, Pa. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
