Imogene Savko February 13, 1928 – February 16, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Imogene Savko, 91, of Center St., Bear Lake, Pa. , went home to be with her Lord Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Corry Memorial Hospital, Corry, Pa. She was born February 13, 1928 in Oil City, Pa.

, a daughter of the late Ralph and Anna Mae Howell Rankin. Imogene was raised and educated in Stewart Run, Pa. , and attended Tionesta High School.

As a young woman, she moved to Titusville and worked there for several years. In 1946, she moved to Corry and began employment at Aero Supply. She also worked at Raymond Manufacturing.

Following her marriage, she moved to Columbus and began working at Corry Jamestown Corp and retired from there in 1985 after 17 years of service with the company. She has lived in Bear Lake since 1963. She was a member of St. Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church in Corry, Pa.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, dancing, cooking and canning. In addition to her parents, Imogene was preceded in death January 28, 2003, by her husband, Charles Savko Sr., whom she married July 9, 1952 in Maryland; a son-in-law, Richard Garvin; five brothers, Wayne “Tom”, Bruce, Ralph, Ed, Walter Rankin; two half brothers, Robert and Richard Rankin; and two grandchildren, Taryn Savko and Jeffrey Fry. Imogene is survived by six daughters, Norma Jean Davis and her husband Ted of Bear Lake, Pa.

, Cheryll Newark and her husband Richard of Simi Valley, Ca. , Beverly Trusso and her husband Ross of Jamestown, Ny. , Donna Fry and her husband David of Warren, Pa.

, Vicki Garvin of Falconer, Ny. , and Sandra Marsh and her husband Michael of Panama, Ny. ; a son, Charles Savko Jr. of Columbus, Pa.

; three sisters, Juanita Bouch and her husband Bud of James City, Pa. , Helene Merritt and her husband Russell of Clymer, NY and Geraldine Black and her husband James of Sugar Grove, Pa. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St. Corry, Pa on Friday, February 22nd from 10 am until noon. A funeral service will be held immediately after the calling hours at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 327 N. Center St., Corry, Pa. Father Nicholas Mihaly will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Columbus, Pa. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa. Imogene’s family would like to say a special thank you to all the care givers that helped with their mom.
