Obituary for Emma Mary Edwards Emma Mary Edwards, 71, of Christopher, passed away at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018 in Herrin Hospital with her loving family by her side. Emma was born March 17, 1947 in Washington Township, New Jersey to Lewis Everett and Anna Margaret (Karcher) Corzine. She married Cecil “Leon” Edwards on September 8, 2006 in Marion.
Together they have shared twelve years of marriage. Emma was retired, having been employed by the Choate Mental Health Center in Anna for over 20 years. She attended Community Chapel Church in Marion before her health began to fail.
Emma enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards with family and friends and listening to music. She especially loved to spend time with her family. Emma is survived by her husband Cecil Edwards of Christopher; four children, Cindy (Patrick) Pierce of Lansing, Tim Burch of Memphis, TN; Ron (Cathy) Taylor of Dongola and Bob (Rachel) Taylor of Center, PA; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia (Mike) Hayden of Marion and Annie (Bill) Hyndeman of New Jersey; three brothers, Lewis (Donna) Corzine of St. Charles, Fred (Kathy) Corzine of Johnston City and Ray (Beth) Corzine of Carpentersville.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ron Taylor, one son, Bill Adams; three sisters, Pearl Elizabeth Corzine, Patricia Johns and Gloria Ann Rudd; three brothers, Joe, Chris and Kenneth Corzine. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev.
Donnie Colson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant (Poordo) Cemetery.
