Eugene Oman Nielsen 03/31/1936- 11/01/2018 Eugene Oman Nielsen Eugene (Gene) Oman Nielsen, 82, passed away on November 1, 2018 with his family close by. He was born March 31, 1936 in Ogden, Utah to Oman and Teresia Nielsen. The Ogden area was his stomping grounds as he grew up.

He loved the neighborhood, rivers, mountains, and the people. Ogden holds many fond memories for him. He attended Madison Elementary, Central Jr. High and graduated from Ogden High.

He lived in Ogden his entire life, except for the 3 years he served in the U.S. Navy. Gene married Flossie 57 years ago in the Logan, Utah Temple. He became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 14.

He served as the Elders Quorum Secretary, High Priest Secretary, High Priest Assistant, Ward Clerk, Ward Executive Secretary, Stake Executive Secretary, Building Chairman and had many positions in the BSA program. He was a member of a CERT team. He enjoyed being with his family, fishing, hunting, camping, puzzles, models, reading community, and family histories.

He liked serving others and was a family and neighbor fix-it man. Gene is survived by his wife, Flossie; his children Brent (Judy), Kevin, deceased, (Shonna), Bruce (Tracy), Scott (Jodi); 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Norman “Butch”, Kenneth, Linda and Susan. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Janet and son Kevin.

The family would like to thank the Encompass Hospice staff and nurse, Taylor, And Dr.Seth Lewis who supported him through trying times. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Mt. Lewis 1st Ward, 435 No.

Jackson Avenue. Viewings for family and friends will be Monday, November 5th from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Mt. Lewis 1st Ward and Tuesday prior to the service at 9:40 to 10:40 A.M. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd.
