Farrel J Adams September 6, 1934 – December 22, 2018 Our beloved Farrel J Adams passed away on December 22, 2018. He was born in Ogden, UT to Farrel and Vernice Adams. Farrel had one sister, Kay.

Farrel was raised surrounded by family in Ogden, UT. He was part of the Ogden High School graduating class of 1952. He helped his father run and operate Adams Shamrock Service Station at 15th and Washington Blvd.

His mom and dad also owned J & K Carhop Drive-In at 4th and Washington. The name represented both of their children Farrel J and Kay. Dad would often mention that he had the rough job of taking the girls home after their night shift at J& K Drive-In.

Dad met the young and beautiful Beverly Henrie at Ogden High School. They fell in love and married on August 10, 1953 soon after mom graduated from Ogden High School at the tender young ages of 18 and dad 19. Dad was an excellent provider for his family, often working two jobs at a time.

He worked ten years for Thiokol Corporation. Dad retired from the State Board of Education in Salt Lake City as an auditor. Dad was always looking for ways to make money from one year selling Christmas trees to selling freeze dried food.

Dad read books on how to make money in real estate. This was to buy older homes or apartments, put in sweat equity and then sell the property. For about ten years starting in 1978, dad spent evenings and weekends with this real estate venture.

There were many times that mom was scrubbing and cleaning right by his side. Mom and Dad were very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were called to serve an Ogden Temple mission.

Dad’s foremost love and passion was his family. He absolutely adored mom. The family dinners, Christmas celebrations and birthday parties always included great food made from scratch with love.

Dad loved golf, bowling, baseball and fishing. While working at the State Board of Education, he arranged several golf tournaments at Wasatch Mountain State Park Golf Course in Midway. After retirement, mom and dad spent the winters in Yuma with their dear friends the Weinstock’s.

Time spent included golf, date nut shakes, swap meets, Walmart shopping and day trips across the border to Mexico. As a young family, the winters were spent snowmobiling. Summer months included road trips and camping.

Farrel is survived by his eternal sweetheart Beverly; son Michael (Terry Olsen), daughter Debbie and son Craig (Kris). The family wishes to thank Comfort Worx Hospice and Mountain Ridge Assisted Living for their compassionate care and attention to detail in the care of Farrel and family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec.

29, 2018 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. where a viewing will be held prior from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that a donation be made in the name of Farrel Adams to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (alzfdn.org/support-us/donate/).
