Marilyn Larsen Bessinger 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Roy, Utah on December 14, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was surrounded by those she loved. Marilyn was the eldest child of Norris and Ina Larsen born March 1, 1941 in Brigham City, Utah.

Marilyn was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was proud of being one of the first Rockettes at Box Elder High School where she graduated in 1958. Marilyn married Ronald Jay Bessinger on December 18, 1959.

While Ronald was in the service, they were stationed and lived in Tacoma, WA. They later made their home in Brigham City, Utah. Until 1989 when they moved to Las Vegas, NV.

In 1995 they moved back to Utah and made their home in Roy. Marilyn was a devoted and loving wife for 59 years, and mother to her three boys. Marilyn and Ron were sealed in the Ogden Temple on their 50th wedding anniversary in 2009.

She had a special group of friends she frequently chatted with, and deeply cared about including Karen Holmes who was her closest confidant and best friend. She was involved not only in their lives but their children’s as well. Marilyn had a full life with a long career as an insurance agent in Brigham City, Utah and Las Vegas, NV.

She retired from Iomega in Roy in 2006. Marilyn is survived by her husband Ronald Bessinger; their three sons: Durke, Plain City, UT; Chris, Harrisville, UT; and Shaun (Sharon), Brookings, OR. Their five grandchildren: Brady Bessinger, Reno, NV; Alex Bessinger, San Marcos, CA; Cody Bessinger, Harrisville, UT; Austin Bessinger, Grants Pass, OR; and granddaughter Josie Bessinger, Brookings, OR.

She is also survived by her younger brother Russell (Cathy) Larsen, Smithfield, UT; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and grandson Tanner Shaun Bessinger. She was especially saddened by the death of her younger siblings: Quinn Larsen in 1981 and Elaine Larsen Jeppesen in 1994.

Special thanks to Alice, Emily, Kylee and Cathy at Hospice for Utah for their compassionate care of Marilyn for the past seven months. Graveside services will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City Cemetery, 325 S. 300 E., Brigham City, UT. Viewings will be Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, and on Friday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at Myers Mortuary.
