Evelyn Tauzin Meche December 20, 1920 – January 08, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card GRAND COTEAU ~ Funeral services will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church for Evelyn Tauzin Meche, age 98, who passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home in Arnaudville. Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau. Reader will be Cheryl Campbell.

Giftbearers will be Geraldine Himel and Janelle Meche. Mrs. Meche was a native of Cecilia and a resident of Grand Coteau since she was sixteen years old. A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and was one of God’s Little Dusters for twenty years.

She loved to pray her rosary. Survivors include two sons, Ronald Pierre Meche and his wife, Viola, of Sunset and Russell Joseph Meche of Grand Coteau; two daughters, Geraldine Himel and her husband, Glen, of Lafayette and Janelle Meche of Grand Coteau; one sister, Alma Tauzin Benoit of Arnaudville; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Meche; her parents, Charles Tauzin and the former Josephine Matthieu both natives of Cecilia; two sons, Curtis James Meche and Jimmy John Meche; eleven brothers and sisters; and one grandchild.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Friday.
