Frances Omega (Garrett) Evans, 91, of Evansville, Indiana, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Meadows Manor in Terre Haute, Indiana. Frances was born in Greenville, Kentucky on August 17, 1926 to the late Floyd and Georgie (Steele) Garrett. She retired from Crescent Plastics after 30 years of service.

Frances was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1114 Women’s Auxiliary, and a 49 year member of Albright Methodist Church. She attended Full Gospel Assembly of… Read More » God during her stay in Terre Haute. Frances enjoyed playing games, dominoes, cards, dice and loved traveling around the United States.

Twice in Frances’ lifetime she was a five generation daughter. She was an avid people watcher especially the young children and babies. Frances also enjoyed competitive walking, long walks with her friends, and spending time with her family.

Frances is survived by daughter, Pamela Hill (Buzz); son, John Evans (Billie); a sister, Ann Corley; grandchildren, Heather (Kevin), Brandie (Marcus), Jennifer (PJ) and Jay; three step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. . Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William H. Evans; a son, Tommy Wayne Evans; her parents; sisters, Mary Montana and Dorothy Garrett; and brothers-in-law, William Montana and Robert Corley.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM Friday June 22, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave. , Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Patrick Jackson officiating. Entombment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to any hospice of your choice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor Jared Parks for his kind and compassionate care.
