Francis James Bennett 78, passed away peacefully at Tranquility Assisted Living in Frederick, Maryland on Sunday, September 2, 2018. “Frank” was born April 19, 1940 in Port Matilda, PA, the son of the late Leroy Edward Bennett and Francis Jane Casher Bennett of Port Matilda, PA. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hazel Bennett who passed in February 11, 2018.

Frank attended Bald Eagle High School and worked for and retired from Penn State University. Frank married Shirley Hazel White in August 1961. They resided in State College until September of 2015 when they moved to Tranquility Assisted Living in Frederick, MD to be closer to their daughter.

Frank is survived by their daughter, Debra C. Shaw and husband Wayne of Monrovia, MD; their granddaughter Stephanie L. Cahalen and grandson Logan Cahalen Harry, both of Monrovia, MD; a nephew Shane McKinley of Renovo, Pennsylvania; his sister Sandra B. McCutcheon of Port Matilda, PA and sister-in-law Marie Bennett of Northwood, PA. There will be a private graveside service in Pennsylvania at a future date.
