Frank Bud F Orena Jr , March 08, 1931 — May 02, 2018

Frank “Bud” Francisco Orena Jr., 87, of Elmwood Ave, passed away Wednesday at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Hartford, grew up in Bridgeport, CT and spent most of his life in this area. Frank worked for 39 years as a firefighter at Pratt & Whitney Corporation in East Hartford.

He retired in 1993. He was a US Air Force Korean War veteran. He loved sailing and fly fishing and later in life became an avid golfer.

He was the beloved husband of the late Jean T. (Labbe) Orena who passed away in 1977, loving father of Frank M. Orena and his wife Karen LaChance of West Springfield, Stephen J. Orena and his wife Borann of North Carolina and Christopher J. Orena of West Springfield and devoted grandfather of Dylan J. Orena and Em J. Orena. There will be a funeral home service Monday at 11:30 am at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield followed by a burial at Paucatuck Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
