Frederick’s Obituary Frederick J. Mark, 67, of Souderton, passed away on January 30, 2019, with his wife by his side. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Fennessey) Mark. Born March 17, 1951, he was a son of the late Robert and Lillian (Shivietz) Mark.

Fred was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Preparatory High School, and St. Joseph’s University (THWND). He was a 30 year employee of Merck & Co., Inc., as a Statistician, from which he retired in 2005. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Jennifer Dudzek and her husband Andrew, three grandsons, AJ, Nolan and Owen, a brother Robert Mark, two brothers-in-law Brian Fennessey and his wife Kathy, and Timothy Fennessey and his wife Anita, two sisters-in-law Theresa Thornton and her husband Kevin, and Colleen Fennessey, treasured nieces and nephews, and cherished friends.

Fred had a curious mind and was an avid reader. His hobbies included working on his Lionel trains, planting vegetable gardens, and cheering on the Philadelphia sports teams. He enjoyed barbecuing, family picnics, and creating his own backyard olympics for his grandsons, nieces and nephews.

He is also known for his wine tasting parties and challenging his family with great trivia contests. Fred would like to be remembered as being a good golfer, but his golf partners understand the word ‘good’ is Fred’s own definition. He never gave up trying to improve his golf game.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 3, from 1-4 PM at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, and again on Monday, February 4 from 8:30-9:30 AM at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM. Interment will be private. Fred and Patty have always been grateful to the dedicated staff at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for the excellent care and compassion they have shown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Fred’s memory to the HEADstrong Foundation, which offers financial, residential and emotional support to families affected by cancer www. headstrong.org.
